  • UP POLITICA has the biggest number of 2011 UP Law School Passers among all the Political Science organizations.
  • UP POLITICA is proud to have members who are college and university scholars every semester and are also active and working members of the organization.
  • UP POLITICA is after the quality and not the quantity of its members. Thus, it maintains the objectivity of the application process by designating corresponding points to every requirement satisfied by the applicants, and requires the applicants to earn a certain number of points in order to pass the application.
  • UP POLITICA has its academic library wherein members can have access to readings, sample exams and previous notes of its co-members and alumni.

                                   COMMITTEES                                   


ACADEMIC COMMITTEE
HEAD: Ma. Kathrina Francisco

The Academic Committee is known as the “brain of the organization.” It performs specific functions determined by the constitution. Among them is the release of 'The Phoenix' - the organization’s official publication. Furthermore, among a multitude of other tasks, the Committee keeps a library of materials consisting of books, readings and sample exams, which not only keeps members well-equipped for the lessons ahead, but also ensures minimal costs for acad materials and a relatively higher grade. The committee also produces its own official newsletter - 'The Weekly Perspective'.

EXTERNAL COMMITTEE
HEAD: Pola Lia Celina Lamarca

The External Committee serves as the Public Relations Office of the organization. Members of this committee promote the organization inside and outside the university (e.g., as the organization's official representatives to the Association of Political Sciences Organizations of the Philippines or APSOP). It also facilitate the promotion of the activities of the other committees, and with this, establish academic ties both with the Department of Political Science and other groups outside the organization. One of the vital jobs of this Committee is the recruitment of people who want to be part of UP POLITICA family, and the convening of the POLITICA Alumni Association (PAA).

FINANCE COMMITTEE
HEAD: Emmalyn Escanilla

The Finance Committee performs all financially related tasks of the organizations, from collection of fees and dues, to transactions when buying org shirts, pins, etc. It also spearheads the establishment of contacts and sponsors, fund-raising activities, and the like.

INTERNAL COMMITTEE
HEAD: Roe Anne Cadiz

The Internal Committee serves as the Disciplinary Board of the organization. As such, the functions of it includes supervision of all disciplinary cases, determination of the punishment and sanctions, strict implementation of rules, and upholding the rights and privileges of the members. At the same time, this committee maintains the strong bonds of the members as UP POLITICA is a family within an academic institution. Aside from the usual tambaymoments, the Internal Committee organizes bonding activities for the members. It also supervises the entire application process and the induction rights every term.

TRAINING COMMITTEE
PROGRAMS DIRECTOR FOR TRAINING: Roe Anne Cadiz

The Training Committee is what makes UP POLITICA unique and original. It serves as the Human Resource Development Office 
of the organization. It has the function to inform the members of any available job openings in any institutions or organizations with which the organization has established ties (examples of which are NGOs such as the World Youth Alliance and Sulong CARHRIHL, and government institutions such as the Office of the Ombudsman). UP POLITICA is an accredited Junior Graftwatch Unit of the Office of the Ombudsman. It also serves as the liaison 
officer between the said institutions and the organization.

Association of Political Science Organizations of the Philippines (APSOP)

The Association of Political Science Organizations of the Philippines (APSOP) is an academic and socio-political organization which aims to advance Political Science as a discipline and render the highest level of service to society. The organization also serves as a venue for dialogue and cooperation among different Political Organizations.

UP POLITICA is a founding member of APSOP and is currently the Director Organization of the Academic Committee.










College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP) Academic Circle

The CSSP Academic Circle is here to further pursue its goal of achieving and promoting academic progress for its member organizations and for the students of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy.








Office of the Ombudsman (Junior Graft Watch Unit)

The Junior Graftwatch Program is part of the Office of the Ombudsman's multi-sectoral strategy to enjoin and empower the youth sector in graft prevention and control by encouraging them to establish Junior Graftwatch Units (JGUs) in schools and communities.

UP POLITICA is the ONLY CSSP-based organization in UP Diliman that is an accredited Junior Graftwatch Unit of the Office of the Ombudsman.










National Youth Commission (NYC)


The NYC provides the youth with opportunities to be an active partner in nation-building through youth programs and projects that will develop and harness their potentials and enable them to be of great service to their country and community.

The creation of new policies and advocacies for youth development also allows the NYC to push for reforms and the creation of new measures to implement better services for the youth and the communities.

UP POLITICA is the ONLY CSSP-based organization in UP Diliman that is a recognized by the NYC.





Sulong CARHRIHL

Sulong CARHRIHL is a citizens’ network that promotes peace, human rights and humanitarian law in areas affected by armed conflict. It advocates the meaningful implementation of the Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (CARHRIHL) by the Philippine government and the National Democratic Front. Sulong CARHRIHL builds partnerships with other NGOs, peoples and sectoral organizations, local communities, religious and academic institutions, and individuals who share the same advocacy..

UP POLITICA is the ONLY organization in UP Diliman that is a member of Sulong CARHRIHL.










World Youth Alliance - Asia Pacific


The World Youth Alliance is a global coalition of young people committed to promoting the dignity of the person and building solidarity among youth from developed and developing nations. We train young people to work at the regional and international levels to impact policy and culture. Through this lived experience of the dignity of the person, young people are able to affirm life at all levels of society.

UP POLITICA is the ONLY organization in UP Diliman that is a member of WYA.
